1. Who is your patron saint and why?
Well picking one is pretty much impossible at this point…
I like to say St. Therese ruins my life because whenever I pray and say: I’m really stressed out about x so please don’t make y happen… I can just see her in the background smiling down at me and saying HA! And then what I hoped wouldn’t happen happens… but it always turns out better in the end, so I don’t really mind. 🙂 But she REALLY reveals herself in the funniest places…
But other than St. Therese the saints I am particularly close to are actually mostly teenaged saints. Other than Our Blessed Mother, I’d have to say that St. Dominic Savio, Bl. Pier Giorgio, Bl. Chiara Luce, St. Maria Goretti, and Saints Francis and Clare.
2. What is your favorite thing to eat on Fridays in Lent?
I love Salmon…like… LOVE Salmon…
3. If you could ask God one question, what would it be?
That’s a really hard question. I’m not naturally a very curious person, and I really don’t have an immediate question that comes to mind. But I’d probably ask him about the beginning of the universe, and what that was like. I recently was told about an experiment that was done in which matter was sped up to the point where it began behaving like light… which could easily relate to the following verse: the earth was a formless void and darkness covered the face of the deep, while a wind from God swept over the face of the waters. Then God said, ‘Let there be light’; and there was light. That intrigued me very much, and I’ve always loved seeing God reflected in the beauty and wonder of the universe, so I’d probably ask about that.
4. Would you rather hang out with friends or stay inside reading a book on a Friday night?
Definitely hang out with friends. I am very extraverted, and love
annoying spending time with other people.
5. What is the last movie you watched?
Well… I don’t know if it counts as a “movie” but lots of Once Upon A Time… other than that, Singing In The Rain with my siblings.
6. What is a career choice that you are thinking of?
Why must you ask the impossible question… 😉 I have no idea! I have a sneaking suspicion that I am called to religious life, (in which case Dominican sisters of Mary, Mother of the Eucharist, HERE I COME!) but I’m a hopeless romantic and marriage is pretty appealing too…(not that I really have a choice though!) so I’m definitely still discerning… but one thing I’m sure of: It will most certainly involve both lots of writing and helping other people.
7. If you could invite any two people (living or dead) to coffee, who would they be?
Another impossible question!? Let me see… (ponders deeply for several minutes).
Assuming Jesus, Mary, and saints excluded, Madeline L’Engle and Bl. Chiara Luce. (She’s not a saint yet, right?)
Assuming only Jesus and Mary excluded, St. Dominic Savio and Bl. Pier Giorgio.
I believe I shall now tag… Nick John!
